PARAGLIDING SITES in HAUTE SAVOIE

Around Lake Annecy you can find numerous sites from which amateurs can practice free flight, either with their own equipment or as paying passengers. There are two major sites closed to the appartment : Planfait and Col de la Forclaz, the landing place is right in front of the house, just some minutes away. (WEBCAMS + METEO  to get current pictures of planfait and Col de la Forclaz!)

 

 

 

 

Planfait: 
 most popular paragliding site at Lake Annecy. 

You can watch the paragliders taking off from the apartment closed to the landing area. There is a forest-track to the take off for the more sportive pilots.  

Breathtaking views and lots of cross-country possibilities

Adventure park for non-pilots at take off; Restaurant and beergarden at landing

Les Fretes:

hour's walk from Planfait with breathtaking view over lake and mountain  

marvellous soaring in the morning with South Wind

straight into the thermals in the afternoon

Col de la Forclaz

Popular Take-off at Montmin

newly opened take-off after 10 minutes walk

Very busy in summer.

 

Roc des Boeufs:

footpath from Entrevernes  a pictureste little village opposite of the apartment

narrow take-off area

often strong winds in the mid-afternoon

Semnoz:

over Annecy

inflating, short flights

peaceful longer flights in the evening but not many XC-possibilities

  just above Faverge

chairlift to the top and 15 minutes' walk
cross-country to the South.
